The Vigdis Freedom Foundation is a newly established organization founded on principles of solidarity and governed by the universality of human rights as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Vigdis Freedom Foundation exists to provide legal support and counsel to women who have been wrongfully accused and face trial.

The Vigdis Freedom Foundation is currently working with human rights lawyer and defender, Eren Keskin, of Turkey who has been a target in the Turkish government’s efforts to silence any social or political opposition. Eren has dedicated her life to fighting for the right to freedom of expression in Turkey, as well as dedicating herself as an ally for women survivors of abuse. Eren has been a force for peace and justice in Turkey, which was officially acknowledged in 2004 when she was awarded the Aachen Peace Prize for “her courageous efforts and activities for human rights.”

Please support Eren throughout her legal process as she fights against the most recent charges put against her. Eren’s freedom is critical to the country, not only for the Turkish government to express a commitment to the rule of law, but also because she is an important leader for women and the fight for the freedom of expression.

Join us and “Give an Hour” of your billable time for essential human rights and their defenders.
